Jeff Knott started in the pool business in 1974 managing Catalina Pools in New Orleans. In 1984 he decided to start up Crystal Pools and Spas to allow customers to experience his own business philosophy. That is not to build 100 or more pools a year but instead build 15 quality hands on pools. He would supervise the entire process, and plumb his own pools. In 1999, his son Kevin graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in business management and decided to join Jeff and keep the tradition going.
While Jeff uses a pencil and graph-paper approach, Kevin designs with a pool CAD program. While the
ir styles differ, these two approaches give customers a great 1-2 combo.
We pride ourselves by our workmanship and are very eager to transform a pool designed on a s
heet of paper into an excellent finished product! A company is more about the people operating that company than the salesmanship, it is about the workmanship. There are plenty of pool coordinators in the pool market that send subcontractors to different jobs with NO supervision, but if you are looking for a builder/blue collar company approach over the salesman/white collar company, then we are DEFINITELY the company for YOU!!!
It is Crystal Pools philosophy to make every customer happy and to build that customers friends and families swimming pools. We are not the cheapest price in town rather we are the best builders in town (we truly are). There are plenty of contractors in this market that want to sell you “their” package, we listen and bid on what YOU want.  If you are looking for the best price then we are not the contractor for you. About Me
I attended Brother Martin High School in New Orleans and graduated in 1995. I am a graduate from Southeastern Louisiana State University with a degree in Business Management. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 2003 and have 3 beautiful daughters. I currently reside in Mandeville, Louisiana. I enjoy to be with all my girls, to hunt with my best friend, father,and father in law and of course watch Saints football. Ask anybody I am an upfront honest man looking to make people happy. I am more of a blue collar guy than white collar guy, check out my toolbox! I am not a guy who feel's I have to wow potential clients with a 42" tv looking at their pool to sweet sales crafty music but instead I just feel to be honest and moreso be ME! My father always taught me you let your work do the talking instead of your mouth. I remember spending high school summertime hot day's plumbing pools with my father. Graduating with a college degree my father would have me work with our subcontractors, not to supervise, but to help out and learn the trait and learn how subcontractors could get a little lazy. At the time graduating, I asked myself what am I doing? Here I am with a degree in business management and I am acting as a laborer but man oh man I would NEVER trade those years of doing that. It taught me almost everything I could know about how to build a swimming pool, that and the knowledge of my father. My father Jeff was born on a farm in Northwestern Minnesota and has lived in New Orleans since 1972. He is one of 15 children in a 1200 ft.2 home with 1 BATHROOM!!! He was vacationing and met my mother and never moved back. He is a carpenter by trade and is a very hard worker, and a friend of his knew of somebody wanting to hire a Operational Manager for a swimming pool company. My father, had no prior knowledge of the swimming pool industry but had his HARD work ethic and landed the job with Catalina Pools. In 1984, Jeff decided to leave and start his own company Crystal Pools and Spas. His focus is on detail and customer relations and not on quantity.
